Age Levels & Fees
2026-2027 Age Classifications and 2025-2026 Costs
- Fees listed below do not include USA Hockey or MN Hockey fees.
- Travel levels (Squirt/10U, Peewee/12U, Bantam) increase ~5% after Aug 1 and October 1 for Mite and below.
- Players must be registered for the regular season to participate in pre-season ice time, contact clinics, or Fall 3v3.
- Players participating in the Spartacats Girls Hockey program who live within EHA boundaries must register through EHA.
- The maximum regular‑season fee per family is $4,500. Team fund fees or other team‑specific costs may still apply. Tryout fees are already included in registration fees and cover all pre‑tryout ice.
- Your full balance must be paid by the final installment date. If the balance isn’t paid — and you haven’t arranged an alternative payment plan with the EHA Treasurer — your player may be held out of practices, scrimmages, games, tournaments, and next season’s tryouts.
MN Hockey Level Classifications
Birthdates are set by Minnesota Hockey, and players register for the level that matches their age classification.
Exception:
- If your child is born June 1 or after, they may play up with their grade instead of playing with their age.
Example:
- A player born after June 1 and entering fourth grade may play up to Squirts/10U.
- If that same player is entering third grade, they must register for Mites/8U.
- Note: EHA may request proof of grade for any player registering up a level.
USA Hockey Registration
All players must register for USA Hockey each season.
- USA Hockey Registration must be completed before EHA registration.
- Numbers are valid May 1–April 30 each year.
- Save your confirmation number; you'll need to have it for the registration process.
Eligibility
EHA does not serve the entire city of Eagan
The governing body for Eagan Hockey is Minnesota Hockey, which requires players to register based on home address or school attendance. EHA follows Eagan High School attendance boundaries (District 196).
- Use the address lookup to confirm your assigned high school.
- If the tool lists Eagan High School, you may register with EHA.
- If not, register with the appropriate neighboring association.
- If your address is outside the EHS school boundaries, and you'd like to play for EHA, a waiver is required. See below for information.
- Refunds are not issued for incorrect registrations.
- If unsure where to register, contact the EHA Registrar.
Waivers
Living outside of Eagan High School boundaries
MN Hockey determines eligibility by home address or school attendance. If you live outside the Eagan High School boundary, you will need a waiver to play in EHA.
Two waiver types:
- School Attendance Waiver – for players who attend a school inside EHA boundaries. Minnesota Hockey updated its school‑based waiver rules in January 2024. School-based waivers now apply only to players finishing their last year of Mites and entering their first year of Squirts.
- One-Year Discretionary Waiver – required each year for players who live outside EHA boundaries and do not have a school wavier on file.
Both waivers use the same form; the School Attendance Waiver only needs to be filed once (unless school changes).
How do I request a waiver?
- Submit the waiver form to your Home Association President for signature prior to tryouts.
- Send the completed form to EHA Registrar for EHA President signature.
- EHA Registrar will return the form to you for your District Director signature.
- One signed by your District Director, return to EHA Registrar.
Once fully approved, the waiver will be attached to your player's roster for certification.
Refer to the following for additional information about waivers:
- District 8 Player Waivers page
- Minnesota Hockey Handbook: Section IV of the Minnesota Hockey Youth Rules and Regulations.
